In early July, my sister, Andi, her husband, Kyle, and their sweet baby boy, Ben, moved to Milwaukee for Kyle's one-year radiology residency at Froedert Hospital. We could hardly believe that we would all be together with my dad and Ning, who also live in Milwaukee. We literally counted down the months, then the weeks, and then the days until Andi and Kyle were finally here!
The joy we felt at their arrival was tinged with deep sadness knowing that our year together had been cut short by our transfer to Luxembourg. We made the absolute most of our three weeks together, seeing each other almost every day. Even writing this post is difficult. We miss them so much, and wish so desperately that we could be two places at once.
